Message From Don Kenzakowski, Meet Director - Boys
Please find attached a work schedule for the Boys' (Morning) session of the Harvest Meet.
The Harvest Meet takes a significant amount of work both behind the scenes (preparing, meet
seeding, setup, etc.) as well as on-the-scene, and I appreciate everyone's cooperation in helping
make this event run smoothly. It is a very long-standing invitational, no other meets are scheduled
in the Middle Atlantic region that weekend, and it's a chance for us to show other swim clubs what NAAC
is all about.
That being said, we are a little slim on volunteers this year, and I thank you all for your support. As you'll see
by the list, it takes a lot of volunteers to run an invitational. A couple of notable items:
1. Wednesday before Thanksgiving: All are invited to help set up for the meet. All tables, timing equipment, etc.
are set up during/after practice so that everything is ready for the morning session.
2. Meet does start at 9:00 AM, but please plan to arrive by 7:45 AM at the latest.
3. Timers: This is a personal request. There is usually a multitude of last minute things to check on, and while
I don't mind hunting down timers at the regular meets, it's kind of difficult for the Harvest Meet. I am planning
to put up a clip board with "Morning Timers Harvest Meet" by the hallway entrance to the pool. If you could
sign-in, me and my scattered brain would be most appreciative by the timer's briefing.
4. Baked goods. Please bring them.
5. Canned goods. Them too; it's important.
6. Ready Room: To help the events go smoothly, we pre-line up all swimmers from all clubs by heat and lane number.
This is done in the locker room, from which the swimmers are marched off to their respective lanes in heat order. Ready room people will have a list of swimmers to help them line the swimmers up. Many thanks to Gina and Caroline for helping out.
Thanks again for all your help!
