About Norristown Area Aquatics Club
Our Purpose:
- to promote amateur swimming and diving for Montgomery County area young people, to help provide the opportunity for competitive swimming and diving at all levels, and to encourage excellence and sportsmanship.
- to provide instruction for new and developing swimmers and divers and to further enhance the skills needed for advanced swimmers and divers.
Our 2011-2012 season begins with Registration in mid-September and practice begins in late September. Swim evaluations will take place during the first week of practice and swimmers will be grouped according to age and ability.
Our Mock Meet will take place in late October before the first dual meet to orient new swimmers and their families to the SAL swim meet format. The mock meet allows our coaches to set our swimmers' initial times which are used as seed times in our first dual meet.
Our swimming and diving season consist of approximately seven dual meets, various optional invitational meets, a Division Championship swim meet and diving meet, open to all swimmers and divers, and the League Championship meet for the top 18 swimmers (plus 2 alternates) in each age group.
Each year, NAAC is host to the Annual Harvest Meet Invitational which takes place on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
During our season the Parent's Club host's several "Splash Parties" for our members, and we end our season with the much anticipated Awards Banquet.
